"The subject of "Soft Waves" lies within the context of my atmospheric paintings, including "The Weather" series. It is also related to "Happy Planet", though "Soft Waves" goes beyond the Earth's atmosphere into outer space. Invisible energies are moving through the cosmos. Here the mysterious electromagnetic waves are made visible. These are not a scientific literalization but joyful waves, gentle solar winds, imaginal data, or radio waves being sent from and to faraway places. The color pallet is serene and the aesthetic is wabi sabi, worn beauty showing age. The stars float on the wonderous plasma sea and sound a sweet eternity. The style is influenced by children's book illustration and is inspired by an innate optimistic view that the cosmos has its own harmonic wisdom, which is greater than any personal challenge. This point of view is relieving, healing, and uplifting. My intention is to inspire similar feelings of wellbeing in the viewer."
