Easter Colors
"This original abstract work is a joyful explosion of the colors associated with spring. A layered effect is achieved with wide, lively brush strokes in many directions. The layers and visible chunks of paint within the brush strokes create texture and dimension. It was cold when I painted Easter Colors. The combination of colors made me long for the spring that I knew was coming. Easter colors are layers of pastels against a grassy terrain that may cause you to wish for Spring. I feel warm, happy energy when I look at this painting. I painted it on the floor, on top of a plastic drop cloth, in different directions all around the canvas to achieve the repetitive lines that I wanted."
