"This painting depicts the horizon of a marshland that was created when a family of beavers built a series of dams across an old farm's brook. Someone hauled a pair of old lawn chairs down to a little peninsula nearby, and my brother and I still meet there sometimes, just to sit and listen to the air. It is a very peaceful place."
