Window Seat

"These shoots were meant to evoke nature, elements, landscapes, earth, space, light, electricity. I used some basic elements mixed with the resins, I love nature and natural forces through science and physics and I did set out to create images that evoke these things. I did a new thing for nearly all of these. It was a combination of resins, dyes, and simple chemical reactions, to get motion, evolution, etc. I was trying very hard to make paintings with the photos, used a brush, painted, but then let some natural processes, lighting with prisms, jars of water and UV and other light. Trying to capture the light itself as the image is also something I've been doing. They were all (except one) made in petri dishes, photo below. They are close ups of very small details and reactions. I’ve done some of these things before, but really tried to do a thing this time and begin build a new body of work. I’ve been working on these for a while, very much trying to grow what I’m doing creatively. Health/energy wise, past 8 months have been challenging, building a new body of work has been my outlet when I can do it."
