Where I Find Peace

"Where I Find Peace was started in the spring of 2020, finally taking its current form this spring. To me, every stage of grief and growth, setback and triumph are sealed within - and truly represents to me my artist's journey over the pandemic. The painting is composed of acrylic and sealed pastel, and is heavily shaped, molded, and layered to encourage unexpected flashes of color at every angle viewed.

The title is an excerpt from the song “Borders” by Kalandra:

"On the borders of safety

That’s where I find peace

Where the black sand

Meets the raging sea I see the forces

For what they truly are

Yet I’m reminded

Of my beating heart.""
