What If I Jump

"What if you jumped, if you did that thing that you worry about? What if you trusted, and let the intensity of it wash away? This piece, with its fierce colors, holds all the energy of that moment. It starts with random lines and marks made with pigment bars. Then fields of acrylic color, spray paint, acrylic ink and markers, and soft pastels bring the composition into focus. The contrast of cool blue against striking pink-red highlights that sense of anticipation. Motion implied by the red lines and repeated rectangle shapes brings the viewer into the painting, a reminder to move forward."
