"The Waterworks series developed out of my love for water, especially the rushing rivers found in the Northwest. Using rocks and the multi-colored reflection of light in running water, I arranged the shapes in a rhythmic, pleasing way. I mostly used my memory from sitting and watching rivers like the Smith and Salmon River in Oregon, and at 18 years of age backpacking the wilderness in the Rockies north of the Vallecito Reservoir in Southern Colorado. The line work added interest and a sense of movement."
