Urban Grid #5

"Urban Grid Number 5 was created by disrupting a the hard straight edge geometry and lines of an urban landscape with the flow of organic natural forms and lines. The work was inspired by a childhood memory of my first visit to a city and the shock I felt in its sharp contrast to my rural countryside home. I created the painting on a grid structural format while weaving the color and lines. My process involved mapping, exploring organic constraints and seeking the possibilities of continuous systems. In this painting I interweave colors organically while keeping in mind disruptions in spaces."
