Urban Grid Number 30

"My process involves mapping, exploring organic constraints and seeking the possibilities of continuous systems. I work on a grid format continually rotating the canvas in 90-degree segments. Woven Lines are thickly layered and painted which adds areas of dense textures. I work through a ritualistic physical and structural approach to harmonize mixed media through layering. This work includes rope to add an extra texture and dimension. I’m drawn to the way rope naturally winds, straightens and coils, creating depth, patterns and textures that both visually and emotionally appeal to me."
