Untitled (Invisible)

"Untitled (Invisible) is a nod to the Lyme community and how invisible we feel. These various vails of colors overlapping and creating new colors symbolize the connection we have to each other in this community. We are shielded and taken over by the bold structure of the medicinal system that ignores us and makes us feel invisible. We are a misunderstood community due to the complexity of our illness so we don't fit the mold the CDC believes. It also symbolizes the invisibility of our illness, how we often look okay but inside we feel like we are stuck in a jail cell with no one to help us out. Each of my works have a black ”frame” lining one or more of the edges of the piece. These forms connect all my works creating that narrative and conversation between them while also grounding the piece adding that weight I want the audience to feel."
