Untitled (Black-Legged)
"Untitled (Black-Legged) explores the balance between control and chaos using layered, organic shapes in analogous colors. The background spills and fields of color are larger and transparent, while becoming smaller and opaque in the foreground. A thick black line anchors the piece and provides contrast to the organic shapes. Black vertical lines in the upper portion create dimension and guide the viewer's eye. Soak staining was used by spilling diluted paint onto raw canvas, creating translucent oval shapes that contrast with opaque layers. The title references the black-legged tick that carries. Overall, Untitled (Black-Legged) visually represents my journey with Lyme Disease."
