Under the Moonlight

"This painting is inspired by several movements of the modern art period, such as expressionism, abstraction, color-field, and surrealism. The premise of the work is simply a casual encounter at night, under the moonlight, juxtaposed with an out-of-place arch adding a surrealist element to it. Long shadows are cast to add dimension and the colors are vibrant in contrast to the night so that an otherworldly quality can be seen."

- Joshua Nobles
