The Words on the Screen

"This vibrant and textured piece is the result of a dynamic, multi-layered process that merges deliberate structure with spontaneous movement. The composition begins with an underpainting in blue, marked by fine vertical lines that establish a subtle rhythm across the surface. An “L” shape frames the lower portion, grounding the composition with a darker boundary that contrasts sharply with the lighter hues above. Over this structured foundation, a bold layer of pink paint is splattered and smeared through a unique application method: a paint roller filled with pink paint, mounted on a drill, spun rapidly to create an explosive, chaotic spread of marks. The resulting pink splashes, spirals, and drips radiate outwards, creating a sense of motion that contrasts with the orderly blue lines beneath. In the center, a more concentrated spiral of pink draws the eye, as though capturing a burst of energy frozen in time. The entire piece is wrapped in clear adhesive vinyl, which introduces a layer of reflectivity, transforming the surface into a mirror-like plane that catches and refracts light. The vinyl adds depth, as reflected highlights and shadows play across the image, casting portions into soft focus and enhancing the sense of dimensionality. The clear, glossy layer blurs the boundaries between the marks and the surface, creating a dynamic interaction between texture, color, and light. This piece invites viewers to engage with both the controlled and chaotic aspects of its creation, embodying a tension between meticulous planning and raw spontaneity. Through the layering of texture, color, and reflection, it explores themes of movement, energy, and the interplay between order and disruption, capturing a moment of vibrant transformation on a static plane."
