The Destination is the Path

"I think this one is the most different from the others in this collection. I used very similar elements and techniques. Rock, leaves, petals, ocean colors, delicate branches. I very much like it as something like an abstract painting, taken as a whole. Up close, the patterns are very detailed, dense, but to me not chaotic. They feel like they resolve to some kind of sense, a lot of motion, abstract-expression type of image. Every time I tried taming/toning it down to be more like other images in the collection, I was losing that quality. So I let it be what it was and I think some pretty amazing detail emerged as I was working on it."
