"My heart continues to want to paint the New Mexico landscape, where I lived and built my art and teaching career for ten years. This painting is an imagined landscape inspired by my love of the desert and the plein air painting I did in the area of Ghost Ranch. My process and goal was to discover what would emerge from the use of very intense, saturated compliments, while using the turquoise shadow as a clear pathway into the landscape."
