Sunrise Blues

"This painting was an experiment for combining abstraction with geometric hardedge. I started by using a drip background of various shades of transparent blue and green. I then photographed the canvas, loaded the image into my software and layered on some graphics, changing forms and colors until I was content with the direction it was taking. I then applied the graphical elements to the painted background. When I completed the piece, a friend suggested the title ‘Sunrise Blues’ due to the yellow circle rising above the geometry while on a the blue drip backdrop."
