Submerging

"Sometimes I produce a piece out of need to express something. Anything. This piece, however, is not one of those. I found the original sketch for this in my archives and it was dated 1988. Notations on the sketch showed that my intent for this piece was to create a colorful, yet calming piece. I decided to produce it and once I reached my goal, I found it to be a bit too calming for me. After putting it aside for a few weeks, I knew what I needed to do to finish it. As I often do in my work, I needed to disrupt it. The disruption came in the form of the black triangle that submerges itself beneath the multi-colored bar. That was all it needed."
