Spring is Here
"I was able to attend an art show which featured an artist who had a style where she would paint multiples of the same painting. She then cuts the paintings and weaves together the ending painting. It was an interesting challenge and I have tried some of the same technique but it is very difficult. She also had some paintings that had simpler designs using pieces of painted paper. This was a drawing I created then I decided to try to use smaller pieces cut from another painting to create the flowers. Instead of painting fresh paint, I applied all the small pieces w/glue to the painted surface to create the multiple colors that are in flowers and leaves and stems. ˆI love the texture it creates. The lines of each of the pieces help to create multiple textures and movement. It is a slower process that helped me to study how placing different colors creates different looks."
