Seirei 活力 (katsuryoku)

"*This collection draws from my studies of Japanese literature and myth, a personal journey in natural ink-making to echo place and symbology, and my family’s ancestry (both in stories known and lost; epigenetics and health) - through the lens of my lived experience with multiple sclerosis and neurodiversity, medium and process. In my creative practice, the scales shift daily between these four pillars.* Seirei 活力, or the "spirit/essence of energy/vitality" is part of a series titled "Seirei" (previously "The Ancients") - the Seirei are cyanotypes made from handcut paper masks (kirigami), incorporating color symbolism and Japanese myth."
