Pit in the Stomach

"This one is a highly personal piece. This began in a process of free association. With this piece I recall that I was feeling unwell. The lines are crisp but also drawn with a certain severity and harshness. The figure on the left only appeared to me later in the painting. It is a simple stick figure but it is still clear that he/she looks unwell. The portrayal is the depiction of the feeling of a bowling ball in one's stomach. Behind the figure is a certain patterned chaos that dwarfs the character on the left."
