Phi Angles

"Creating a strategic plan, structure, and continuity using the math principle of Phi, or the Golden Ratio, inspired this work. I first did a small scale version of this painting, and when I decided to use the square for this piece's base, I had to rework every bit of math! Usually, a good phi-angled piece has a longer side vs. a shorter side to agree with the Fionacci sequence. I didn't mean to complicate the process by using equal length sides, but I did, and it took a year or more to get everything done! To remedy the final result, thick and thin white lines were painted to help draw the eye in the certain places."
