"An exploration of intuitive assembly of marks, shapes, colors and texture. Through these pieces I discovered the power of creating layers that are only partially visible in the final work, but which lend it visual and emotional power. The title is a testament to my determination to keep working on abstract compositions until I gained more facility, which I feel started to happen with these pieces and three others made around the same time."
