Mondrian

"This hard-edge piece is included in my 'White Line' series of artworks. The white lines are inspired by the works of Frank Stella, particularly his 1980s pieces. The colors are developed on a piece-by-piece basis, from individual color palettes that are dependent on how I envision the outcome. The title of this painting exposes its origin of inspiration, artist Piet Mondrian whose reach in the art world spanned more than half a century. His use of the primary colors melded nicely with his ever famous geometry.

In my painting, I've brought his style into my updated version with white lines instead of blocks of white, and replaced his primary colors with a color palette specifically created for this piece. I tried to make the colors fun and yet work together, giving it a mosaic feel."
