"Inspired by playful brush strokes and letting go with freedom to play with painterly splashes, bold lines, ink staining, and unconventional tools. Mid Century Moons is a complimentary pattern to "Joyful Doodles 1". It is made with translated analog marks into vectors that allow to make the repeat infinitely scalable. Using expressive and imperfect textures, I brought them into a pattern inspired by geometrical mid-century style. I wanted to create an abstract sense of joy made with how little I could make during this season of recovery (year 2), while celebrating imperfection and authentic movement and keeping a limited color palette that would be friendly to produce and adjust."
