"Despite the name, this isn't actually the desert. Or at least the source images were not. Instead, they were taken in Oregon, some time back, when i had taken a road trip across the country from Minneapolis and thinking about moving to California. The beach was so large, expansive, mirage-like, it may as well have been the desert. When I was working with the image I had to create this graphic interpretation of it, it kept looking like desert, not shore. Fiery, purples, a haze in the distance."
