Little Sister

"Living with ADHD I have created many systems to manage my everyday life. This is no different with my artwork- These systems in art usually manifest themselves in pieces that have a sticker-like quality with a focus on clean lines and symmetry. This painting is a unique peek into my mind when it is leaning away from it's natural instincts to create this way and allow for discomfort to take the lead. There is a sense of calm in this work that is beautiful, made by allowing myself to get uncomfortable. Usually a feeling of chaos is created when I go outside of my comfort zone. Little Sister is literally the little sister to Wabi Sabi. A painting that I created prior that launched the aesthetic made from restraint in both subject and color palette."
