"Expressing the juxtaposition of grit and grace, "Into the Deep 2" reflects uninhibited throws/splatters of paint intertwined with defined swirl shapes Like the ocean, "Into the Deep" series reveals what is hidden deep inside of us. It is about unleashing all of our raw emotions and past experiences. Our tough journey into the deep blue sea has created layers of darkness, challenges and adversities which may have broken us, but only illuminates the beauty of our imperfections. "Into the Deep 2" features multiple shades of phthalo blue, seafoam-green, splashes of wet sand and reflections of the golden sun. This piece features beautiful, organic results when varying paint consistencies and painting techniques collide. The wheelchair tracks are symbolic of one's unique journey. Just as art replicates reality, we learn there is beauty in the layers of imperfect shapes and broken lines as they are an acceptance of change, acknowledgement of history/events and fate -- all aspects of human life. Then we are born again as something new, somethings stronger and somethings more beautiful."
