"The idea of "Intent" marks the beginnings of ideas and of something new. This is prevalent in all areas of society and for me is indicative of humans' natural creative capacity to innovate and always create something new. This painting is inspired by the spark of intent as a marker for what is to become - always and forever new. I collected all the textures locally in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and am employing a new technique of using marks and strokes to add a more painterly element and personal touch to the work."
