Heirloom III

"The inspiration for this painting comes from a three-layer lacquered lunch box passed down through my Japanese ancestors. Lacquerware has always fascinated me with its intricate designs created through painting, inlays, and gilding. The multi-layered black lacquer, known for its smooth, glossy finish, is reflected in this work, capturing my deep admiration for the craftsmanship and beauty of such cherished decorative objects."

- Junco Norton
