Gravity Series: Open Sky

"Angular areas of grey, black, and white create a room while a bluish patch of sky sits at the top edge of the painting. Black markmaking and small bursts and scribbles of orange occur in several areas of the room to represent any residual objects or energy that might linger for a bit in an uncontained space. This piece along with the other pieces in the Gravity Series and a work entitled Flight! are deeply personal and meaningful pieces inspired by my sister's terminal illness."
