Golden Weave

"This painting emphasizes my ritualistic physical and structural approach to artwork that interweaves texture, form, line and color. Golden Weave is meant to evoke a sense of history and Iconography. The use of gold in art has a long and rich history and has been used to create some of the most iconic works of art in the world. Historically, gold has been seen as a symbol of purity and holiness and was believed to have magical properties. Oftentimes I like to work with minimal colors so I can make optimal use of contrast while focusing on embroidering textures and materials. By focusing on the pure physical elements a relationship between the materials evolves into a new creation."
