Flow #14
"This painting is from my Flow series of large scale paintings that are meant to overflow your visual field. This ongoing series is inspired by the ebbs and flows of things as they relate to my memories and spiritual connections to waterways where I often find inspiration. Water is often associated with dreams and visions that can help us connect to our inner selves. The work represents the passage of time, the flow of energy and the flow of creativity. The colors express a strong energy through saturation and contrast which provide a rhythmic flow in the painting. On a literal level, water represents the movement of time and change. It is constantly flowing, and it can never be stopped. This can be seen as a metaphor for the passage of life, and the fact that we are all constantly changing. On a spiritual level, water can represent the flow of energy or consciousness. It is often seen as a symbol of purification and renewal. In many cultures, water is believed to have healing properties. This is because water is able to dissolve and wash away impurities. It can also be seen as a symbol of the subconscious mind, and the flow of thoughts and emotions."
