Eye of the Needle

"I often shy away from painting landmarks, preferring instead to paint winding alleys and streets or a bit of a garden. However, walking my dog Joaquin, through the Seattle Center on a summers day I was struck by the Space Needle against a riot of flowers. Back in my studio, I created this piece with vintage travel posters in mind.Creating a sort of flattened design, where the Space Needle is almost secondary to the flora that surrounds it. Decoupaged medical notes are in the structure of the Space Needle."
