"Abstract expressionistic work that features a soft pastel blue and white background superimposed with diffused orange areas of interest. Black and grey areas provide weight, repetition, and non-specific definition. Techniques include markmaking, layering, and multiple transparent washes. This piece was inspired by a small "pocket park" near my home, where earth and water subtly vie for attention. My inspiration and focus were driven by the colors, energy, and some of the shapes found there, as opposed to trying to depict a specific or identifiable scene."
