Cruciform 4
"The 'Cruciform' series is an interesting hybrid of Frank Lloyd Wright, Wassily Kandinsky and the Bauhaus Movement. Cruciform is defined as 'having the shape of a cross'. It is Mr. Wright who inspired the series with his frequent use of the cruciform in his residential floorpans. The lines and geometric shapes were influenced by the works of Kandinsky during the Bauhaus period. Integration of all of the elements were key to making each piece congruent with the others.
As was the case in 'Cruciform 2', Kandinsky is the influence in 'Cruciform 3'. By changing just a few elements of 'Cruciform 2', I was able to create a piece that stood apart from its predecessor yet they work well together."
