"A composite of tree branches (not all from the same tree, I shaped it), set against a stone wall that leads up to the tide pools here. The colors of both the background and within the tree itself are from a couple of truly blazing winter sunset skies. Peach, purple, orange, red, blue. The tree form, even in its most dense center, is full of strong clear details of the branches and early-spring buds. Something different this time—I live in a nature reserve in Santa Cruz, there’s an amazing diversity of beauty, shapes, colors and natural processes here. I have and shot new images of this area and these are collages, composites of many of those images. They include sand, rocks, rune-like repeating patterns in the stone. Sunsets, ocean, pond, coastal shots, petals, leaves, trees."
