"This abstracted scene from nature, which was originally the middle panel of a horizontally arranged triptych, originated from pictures and memories of the ocean where water meets cliff. As I worked, I became more interested in movement and shapes. The push and pull of these two elements of water and land allowed me to loosen up while joining the surrounding two panels called Cliffline 1 and 3."
