Cattails 1

"I began a cattail series when living in Colorado on Evergreen Lake. During the winter months, the warm hues of the cattails were beautifully contrasted with blue shadows cast across snow were an inspiration. This rendition is an abstracted version of a few smaller studies I did in pastel. I liked the way the cattails broke up into the space between the two larger trapezoids that make up this design. Like black and white piano keys link together and create rhythm."
