Brave Melody

"And so it’s been said that we were made free, so we could fly without fear (of uncertainty anyway)... I have experienced that fearless joy many times, and life has also had its way of showing how it is not always easy, and there are seasons of everything but. So what prevails? It’s hard. to say, I think. The noise out there mostly says we should lead a life of “Good vibes only"... but I don’t see it that way; my life experience has shown me that joy lies in between moments of peace while holding space for heavy uncertainty, to hope that even if our fears come true, we will figure out a way to dust off our scarred knees to keep on walking; that there are ways to let go of needing to know the outcomes so we can seize the present moment. Life altering events and trauma have a sneaky way of taking that fearless attitude we may have had once and slowly letting the fear of uncertainty sink in, overshadowing our dreams. I personally don’t think there is a way to eliminate fear completely, but I am doing all I can to only let it ride in the passenger seat. I try to listen to it so that I can hug it and tell it those are only possibilities. I want to see its childish eyes because behind them lie our biggest motivations, which really, really deserve a chance!"
