Black Daisy

"Living with ADHD I have created many systems to manage my everyday life. This is no different with my artwork- These systems in art usually manifest themselves in pieces that have a sticker-like quality with a focus on clean lines and symmetry. This painting is a unique peek into my mind when it is leaning away from it's natural instincts to create this way and allow for discomfort to take the lead. There is a sense of calm in my work that is beautiful made by allowing myself to get uncomfortable. Usually a feeling of chaos is created when I go outside of my comfort zone. While still using similar composition, the stark difference in color palette create a sense of dread that is oddly beautiful, unlike some other pieces I created around this time that exudes joy or calm. I sign all my paintings with the Dying Daisy- The daisy represents how things can be beautiful despite being imperfect."
