Beyond the Vision I
"Beyond the Vision was a journey of combining 2 processes. First one is that I really wanted it to stay abstract. The first layer was an abstract painting on 3 canvases that originally were separate but I decided to create a triptych. Painting on 3 canvas can be a challenge because you want them to be connected as one painting, but I also paint the canvas around to the sides to continue the painting to the canvas next to it. Triptych or 3 canvas can be hung close together as one solid painting, or with a small separation which can create a different way of hanging the painting. Painting abstract, that can be done fairly easy on multiple canvas but with the addition of the ink (second process) which is drawn quickly and allowed to drip you then create lines and shapes which need to be extended from one canvas to another. With Beyond the Vision, it became my goal to try to create an image of how I see sometimes. RP has taken my peripheral vision but I still have my central vision. Creating different layers of paint and ink, plus a second layer of paint; I believe is an example of my daily struggles with my vision which has good days and bad. Painting and creating art is my inspiration to go beyond the vision that I have left."
