"This style of painting is a new direction for me, uniquely different from my previous paintings. It was inspired by a dawning certainty that technology - in spite of my occasional struggles - has brought a lifetime filled with new friends, constant learning opportunities, and a career full of adventure into my life. My 22-year career building and/or inspecting computer parts for space shuttle launches has led to meeting several astronauts and watching early launches at the Cape with my coworkers, and later, a new career as an artist and art teacher. I learned from online classes and became involved in many art shows and gallery exhibits through my computer contacts, including two SuperBowl Art Auction Events and three Tampa Bay Lightning Celebration of the Arts events. So for me, in my heart and mind, technology is truly a beautiful thing for so many reasons."
