Multiple sclerosis lesions are emphasized in gold, as a nod to the Japanese art of kintsugi- where cracked or broken ceramic vessels are repaired with gold to honor the history of the vessel. The thread in the artwork is from the artist's grandmother's collection, used as a remembrance and for texture."
