Arboretem Spem #6
"I've always loved trees. They have so many shapes, colors and journeys. From the seeds to the majestic trunks and branches. When working w/acrylic ink w/an eye dropper and the canvas on the easel there is minimal control in the drawing. Yet the freedom to just randomly squeeze the eye dropper and draw quickly can create so many journeys of exploration in shapes, Piet Mondrian had some beautiful sweeping trees and then his process lead to his unique style of shapes and colors. The colors are also important in creating forms and movements. My inspiration was a comment by a priest who is also an artist friend, who said create large ones like these. They would make beautiful stained glass windows in a church! "
