Union Gospel Mission

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission (Mission) is dedicated to serving, rescuing and transforming those in greatest need through the grace of Jesus Christ. The Mission was born out of necessity during the Great Depression, when local business leaders and churches came together to serve the hundreds of people experiencing homelessness and hunger in Seattle. Eighty-five years later, the Mission still partners with individuals, churches, other organizations and the local government to awaken hope in the hearts of people overcome with poverty and homelessness.

Art From the Streets provides a weekly opportunity for artistic expression and space for homeless men and women to explore the arts as a catalyst for healing and therapy. Art From the Streets includes art and photography classes as well as a monthly art gallery open to the public. This program offers those experiencing homelessness the ability to express themselves and have access to art mentorship and supplies, while also presenting an opportunity to make a life transition out of homelessness.
